Happy New Year 2009?

Happy New Year 2009?

Will 2009 be the most fruitful and happy year of your life so far? There’s a New Year coming, are you interested in pursuing your dreams in a new way not for the first few days of the New Year but for the whole 12 months?

What is it that makes some people have all the things in life they dream of, whilst others go on in quiet despondency? How come some people get so close to their dreams only to find the rug has been pulled right out from under them, just at the moment when they seemed to be finally winning?

It's down to two types of belief, beliefs that we have about ourselves at a subconscious level. It's our belief in ourselves or our self worth, and our belief in our abilities to be able to do the things we are capable of.

If you don't think your capable or worthy of the better things in life, it doesn't matter how hard you dream and work towards those better things, you won't get them. Without self worth and being convinced that you have the ability to do new things, or to do the things you do right now at a higher level of proficiency, you'll never achieve the things you'd really love to do.

If you don't think you’re worthy or capable, there's nothing I can say as your Life Coach that will convince you otherwise. This feeling of "I'm not able or not good enough to ... (fill in the blank)" can't be reasoned away, the good news is that you have a weapon that can be used against your own belief of unworthiness. I'll tell you about that in a little while.

But right now, how do you see yourself, do you lack belief in your own capabilities? I have a friend who learned to fly last year, it took him four months to get his wings, the staggering thing about this individual is that he has an extremely demanding job and a very busy social life. “How did he find the time to do it?” was my thought. So what about you, could you learn to fly an airplane?

Think about it for a while ... what's your answer?

A) No!
B) I doubt it; I'm not very good at that sort of thing.
C) I'm not sure but I'd give it a try.
D) Yes, given the time and money.
E) Where's the local flying school, I want to enroll on a beginners course!

You see it's not a belief in the abilities you already have that I'm talking about here, it's your belief that even though you've never done it before, you know that you can if you put your mind to it. This kind of belief can be achieved by having someone reason with you until you can see that you really can do it!

The life coach is a great sounding board, a catalyst, someone who is there to help you to realize you have abilities that you never even thought you had. As for the secret weapon against a lack of self worth ... it's your imagination! The life coach can help you develop your imagination, so it works for you rather than against you, so get yourself a Life Coach in 2009!
